apple My Story apple

I have been coming to Africa (mostly Kenya) for the last ten years (going on eleven) and have been a Mac person for all of that time. I started off on a Commodore 64 (remember those puppies?) which was the absolute thing to have when I got it. I don't remember how I got from that to the SE30 but I did and have never looked back.

Whenever a family member has slowly stepped into the computer age I would happily hold their hand and lead them down the right path. I got my father onto a Duo (and he does work for Lotus!) and started my mother off with a my old SE way back when and now having her eyeing the new PPCs (no she is still not working with the SE!).

I will try not to go on and on about how great I think Macs are I will let others (who are being paid) do that. Let these web pages serve as a shining light in the deepest darkest Africa.

After being in Evangalist I got tons of response. This page went from being the smallest of the small to something worth a second look. I recieved about 100 responses from all over the world. They ranged from tips and suggestions to some great stories about Macs in Africa.

Not that I am at all amazed by any of this. It does show however that the Mac community wants to survive and is willing to put in the time and energy to do so.

The long and not so short of it is that the site is now bigger and better with serious thanks going out to Guy and everyone else who chipped in. apple BUT.... apple

This does not mean that this site is done. It is far from done. So keep those ideas, tips, links and stories rolling into my mailbox (just click on suggestions on the menu bar!)
